Prince William Gives Health Update On Pregnant Kate Middleton, Says Prince George Is ‘Hectic’
The Duke of Cambridge replaced his wife on a trip to Malta as she is suffering from acute morning sickness
We haven’t heard a wink from the couple since it was announced they were expecting Royal Baby number two.
But Prince William has spoken out for the first time about Kate Middleton’s health condition, giving an update as to why she couldn't visit Malta.
The Duke of Cambridge, 32, was forced to replace the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge, also 32, on a scheduled trip to Malta as she is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum (acute morning sickness), which she also had with Prince George.
Speaking to onlookers on Saturday, Sept 20, the handsome Prince apologised for Kate’s absence.
"I'm sorry you've got me instead of Catherine," he joked. "She's very disappointed she couldn't be here today."
And when a visitor asked how Kate was getting on, William replied that she was feeling ‘so-so.’
He also said that one of the reasons she had to miss the trip was because the weather would have been too hot for her.
Pregnant Kate is currently resting at Kensington Palace after cancelling her trip to Malta under doctor’s orders.
She was supposed to be flying out to the country this weekend on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen to mark the 50th anniversary of Malta’s independence.
In a statement released on Friday, Clarence House said Prince William would be replacing her and was ‘honoured’ to be representing the Queen.
During his visit, Wills also joked that his son, one-year-old Prince George, was a bit of a tearway.
He was speaking to the country’s President Marie Louise Coleiro Preca who told him she’d love to see his children visit one day.
"Malta might not survive baby George,” he said. “There's too many precious things around here.”
He also offered a young college student – who’s studying child care - a babysitting job (in jest, of course).
"You can come and do some babysitting for me," William said. "He's busy. They're very hectic at that age."
Prince George is set to become a big brother after the pair revealed they’re expecting Royal Baby number two in the spring, as they announced on September 8.
Speculation has been rife, well ever since Prince George was born in July 2013, that Kate and William were keen to add to their young family.
Now the odds are on for whether the pair are expecting a little girl or a boy to become a future Prince or Princess.
