Kate Middleton Pregnant: Royal Baby Name And Odds On Boy Or Girl Revealed

James and Henry among the favourite boys names – while Elizabeth and Alexandra top the list for girls

It’s only been a few hours since they announced they were expecting again, but betting has already opened on the name and gender of royal baby number two.

Pregnant Kate Middleton and Prince William, both 32, will soon have another little one to run around after, following the birth of son Prince George in July 2013.

Bookmaker Coral expect more than £1 million to be gambled on the royal baby’s name, gender, hair colour and date of birth – one punter has already placed a £1,000 bet on Catherine giving birth to a baby girl!

Will the second royal baby be a little brother for one-year-old George – or will it be a Princess of Cambridge?

Well unsurprisingly the odds on whether the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be having a boy or girl are pretty even considering it is completely random at this stage.

But Ladbrokes reckon it’s 4/5 that it’s a boy, while Coral estimate it’s 10/11 that it’s a girl.

Betting has also opened up on whether Kate and Wills are expecting twins (20/1) or triplets (100/1).

James is the firm favourite for a boy’s name, with Coral betting 3/1 that the pair will be naming their (potential) son after Kate’s little brother.

Henry is the next most popular choice (10/1) at Paddy Power, with Arthur, William and Philip looking likely too.

Ladbrokes have also opened up betting on baby boys names and reckon Arthur could be in for the running, followed by William’s dad’s name, Charles, and his brother’s name, Henry.

It looks like we could have a Princess Elizabeth on our hands next year as William’s grandmother’s name is the firm favourite for the royal baby girls name (10/1 and 8/1, respectively).

Alexandra is also looking likely – wonder if they’ll nickname her Alex or Lexi? -  with Coral putting the odds at 5/1.
