Suzanne Shaw blog: A bland Dancing On Ice, my bizarre but brilliant musical and movie night with Corey

Suzanne Shaw wasn't impressed with this week's DOI but enjoyed her movie night and reveals more details on her bizarre musical.

I could sit here on the fence, however, the flying on DOI didn’t really make sense to me. I thought the music was poorly chosen, and I expected so much more, especially with the girls. Hayley’s performance was the best compared to the others, but I didn’t feel it had the magical experience it should have. None of the flying performances should have scored 10s in my opinion.

I was really gutted to see Sam go. Obviously the girls are getting the public vote - which has made me feel that Ray might not actually win despite being the best skater left in the competition.

Last week was a very busy week, and by the end of it I really needed some much-needed family time! Movie night is a big tradition in the Shaw household - Corey and I have done it for years. Every week we get to choose a movie each and we sit and watch both movies. PJ's on, popcorn on the go and snuggles on the sofa! It's just so perfect! In fact the whole weekend was such a treat.

This week our choice of movies was ‘Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2’ and ‘Back to the Future Part 1’. We flipped a coin and my movie got to go first! Corey, not too pleased that I got to go first, decided to have a face of thunder for the first 5 minutes but that soon changed. So much so that ‘Cloudy 2’ didn't even come out of the box! We watched ‘Back to the Future Part 2’, then ‘Part 3’! Corey has not stopped watching them all weekend!

I taught Corey how to marinate chicken. He really loved helping out and it was such a tasty way to enjoy a chicken salad! We played board games, took Dudley for a walk and had a great Sunday lunch out!

It’s been another super busy week for me… My next project is bizarre but brilliant. I'm currently working with a fantastic up-and-coming writer/director called Chris Nelson and the very talented songwriter Ben Adams from A1, on an 80's comic book, sci-fi musical. The only way I could describe it is ‘Flight of the Conchords’ meets ‘Flash Gordon’ meets ‘Star Wars’ with A LOT of singing and dancing in it! We are close to completing the project and hopefully in 4 weeks it will be ready to pitch.

I got into this with a friend coming over to dinner, excited about his new project. He asked me for a female input. I looked at his project and got very excited. My brother is a big comic fan, and it took me right back to my childhood. I feel so positive about this project and we've already had some great interest from some big hot-shot producers to see the finishing product. All going well we may even get into production in 2015.

As for the rest of my busy week, I spent it in Leeds and Manchester with Gareth Gates promoting the ‘Dancing On Ice’ tour! We had such a giggle. The days were very long with back-to-back interviews for two days solid. We got so delirious at one point that we couldn't stop laughing! Really looking forward to going on tour as I know it's going to be a much more relaxed environment.

So, I've been very quiet about my relationship with my gorgeous man Sam Greenfield. It's a fairly new relationship so I've not talked about it because I'm known for not being the luckiest in love. Also Sam is not in my business and it can be very daunting at first, so wanted him to get used to it all! (Didn't want to scare him off!) We did our first photo shoot for OK which is out this week! It was so funny as it was Sam's first time doing anything like this and he looked a little confused at times! I do have to say he looked very handsome in the lovely outfits they put him in, and now we have the pics of us to put up in the house!

Have a great week!
