Suzanne Shaw blog: I’m really gutted to leave DOI

Guest writer Suzanne Shaw is devastated having been knocked out of ITV show ‘Dancing On Ice’.

What a shame! I was voted out of ‘Dancing On Ice’ last night and I’ve got to be honest, I’m really gutted.

Kyran did amazingly well and I think I just let the nerves get the better of me. I made a couple of errors in my skate-off routine so I wasn’t surprised with the result. It was just a shame they couldn’t take my ‘Black Velvet’ routine into consideration.

It felt fantastic to receive the high scores and hear such great comments from the judges (which makes it a little easier) but it’s still hard to leave because I put my all into it. My partner, Matt, has been so supportive and I’ve loved skating with him. I’m just sorry we didn’t make it to the final.

In terms of the remaining contestants… Sam’s very close to Ray in ability and I hope he gets the votes he deserves; Kyran and Beth are very similar and Hayley’s a great performer and good friend but I don’t feel like she’s skating like the rest.

Ray’s the favourite, there’s no doubt about that, but this series has been very unpredictable so you never know. Good luck to the remaining five - I’ll be watching from the comfort of my sofa next week!

There’s been lots happening over the past week away from the ice rink, and it started with Corey going on a school trip to learn about the Tudors. I created a Tudor outfit for him, which he loved. He was up at 6am on the day of the trip and couldn’t wait to jump into the outfit! I was so proud seeing him run off with his other Tudor friends when I dropped him off at school.

Corey also wrote his first ever Valentine’s card! He put so much care into it so clearly this girl’s special to him. Bless!

For the first time in months, I had a little night out with some friends on Wednesday and it was so, so good to see Noel and Rich. The only thing I didn’t mention to them was the fact there there’d be a camera crew there too, doing some filming for ‘Dancing on Ice’. It was all done quite quickly so we were able to relax for a couple of hours and have a bit of down-time, which was much needed.

After really improving over the past few weeks, Dudley’s gone back to being a naughty dog. He seems to have completely forgotten all the potty training I’ve given him and I’m waking up every morning to a few puddles and a guilty looking puppy. So it’s back to the puppy handbook. He’s generally been brilliant though, and I love coming in from work and spending time playing with Dudley and Corey.

There was panic in the house on Thursday as, typically in these freezing temperatures, the boiler decided to die! Ahhh! For a day we were smothered in jumpers and blankets, but thank god I have a plumber friend who was amazing and got it up-and-running in no time – good ol' Dave!

So it’s onto the next chapter for me now. I’ve got so many exciting things coming up this year, and I can’t wait to get my teeth stuck into them!

Have a great week!
