London Fashion Week: It's Not All Glam Behind The Scenes
Fashion is the most glamorous industry, but pulling off a massive event like LFW takes a LOT of behind-the-scenes prep, so our photographer went backstage to catch the not-so-shiny side of LFW
From the outside LFW is a glamorous whirlwind of beautiful clothes, crazy hair, colourful bloggers and celebrities looking gorgous in the FROW.
But behind the scenes it ranges from boredom to mayhem - and you never know what you're going to get. It could be a mad scramble to backcomb 12 models' hair or it could be that there's an hour delay getting backstage so everyone just has to sit tight and try not to panic.
Our photographer stuck into the backstage to capture some of the not-so-glam moments of fashion week - to remind us all that underneath the glitz, models, designers and beauty gurus are just people too. And those oh-so-expensive clothes? They're still made of earthly cloth.
And they break!
Oh, and no matter what VB claims, heels will never be comfy.
If you thought models didn't eat - thank again, they're always catching a snack on though go.
Are those mini doughnuts in the cup?
Whatever it is, they look suspiciously carb-y for the fashion industry. Yay for nourished models!
But most of the time it's all about grabbing a quick cigarette while the stylists get to work.
Or eating with one hand, while the nails on your other are painted.
And for the fashion bloggers waiting for shows to start, a quick trip to Greggs might be in order (not quite the popcorn and coconut water image LFW is trying to give out!).
And for most of the models, quick changes and being sent from make-up to hair to clothing means giving up on any idea of privacy...
But mostly there's a lot of hanging around waiting for the magic to start.
