LFW AW15: Kanye West Goes On Twitter Rant After Mixed Response To NYFW Show

Kanye West has hit out at a fashion critic who is less than impressed with his new career as a fashion designer.

Fern Mallis, creator of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, is “kind of over Kanye” according to the New York Post.

Not one to take criticism lying down, Kanye has taken to Twitter to call out the 66-year-old former CFDA executive director.

‘To Fern Mallis: I just want you to understand that attempting to do clothing has been very difficult and I have encountered countless amounts of bigotry along the way. I have millions of ideas and I represent a new generation just trying to express themselves in a broken world. I don’t call myself a designer as I was not allowed to go to Saint Martins because I was too famous by the time I realized I wanted to design. Fame is often looked down upon in the design world, so it’s actually been something I had to overcome. All we have are our dream, and you can step on our dream and ideas all you want, but we won’t stop fighting. We want to innovate and we will win someday. If you wanna have a drink with me, book a table at the spotted pig when I’m back in NY.’

This was all in response to comments from Mallis who admitted: ‘I’m not a fan of his music, and the attitude and the agenda is not my style.’

Despite a celeb-packed FROW last week, Kanye’s Yeezy collaboration with adidas received mixed reviews from fashion critics who weren’t enamoured with his full-body stocking and camouflage collection.

Despite living in LA, showing in New York and frequently attending Paris Fashion Week shows, it’s interesting to learn that Kanye’s first choice fashion school was London’s Central Saint Martins.

Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen are all alumni of the prestigious design school that is synonymous with cultivating the best young fashion talent.

Kanye is currently in London for Fashion Week and attended the Professor Louise Wilson OBE Memorial Service this morning alongside fellow singer turned designer Victoria Beckham.
