London Fashion Week AW15: Tamara Ecclestone Reignites Babies On The FROW Debate

Taking your child along to fashion week seems to be becoming quite a trend

Are children the best accessory you can have for fashion week? Kim Kardashian, the Beckhams and now Tamara Ecclestone seem to think so.

The Formula 1 heiress is the latest famous mama to take her pint-sized child, Sophia, along to a London Fashion Week show – despite the fact that it’s not a parent’s usual go-to baby activity. But then again, if Sophia enjoyed herself, what's the harm?

Tamara, accompanied by her hubby Jay Rutland, sat FROW at the Julien MacDonald London Fashion Week show with her adorable tot perched on her knee.

But while North West didn’t seem very taken with her recent high fashion experiences (she threw tantrums at both Kanye West and Alexander Wang’s New York Fashion Week shows), Sophia looked like she was having a great time.

The 11-month-old watched the show with a grin on her face, toddled around happily and even posed for pics with her stylish mum.

Sophia wore an all-white romper suit while her mum cut an impressive post-pregnancy figure in a black crop top, multi-coloured pencil skit and long grey coat.

Along with a whole host of other famous faces, fellow parents Rochelle and Marvin Humes also attended the show – but minus their own mini fashionista, Alaia-Mai.

It’s becoming something of a trend to take your child along to a fashion show – something that Anna Wintour isn’t too chuffed about.

The Vogue US editor, who was forced to sit next to Kim K and North at Kanye’s Adidas show, apparently wants to ban babies from fashion shows.

“Anna doesn’t think fashion shows are appropriate for very young children such as North West,” reported Radar Online.

“The loud music, the lights from the show, along with flashes from all of the cameras, and of course all of the people, is just overwhelming to a toddler. Anna would never have brought her now-adult children to fashion shows when they were young.”

Although Anna’s not a fan of little Nori, particularly when she’s throwing a tantrums, reports suggest that the queen of fashion is more than happy to break her no-baby rule when it comes to the Beckham’s youngest, Harper.

“Harper is just a delightful little girl, and has such great manners,” continued Radar’s source. “Her mummy and daddy are always reminding Harper to say please and thank you. After Anna compliment little Harper on her outfit at the fashion show, she sweetly said in her little voice, ‘Thank you so much.’”

True enough, Harper did behave impeccably at her mum’s NYFW show last week and Ms Wintour seemed far happier sitting next to the three-year-old than she did when seated beside North.

But then again, she is a good year older than Nori, and so more inclined to know when to be quiet and behave.
