Woman Who Didn’t Know She Was Pregnant Gives Birth On The Toilet – And It’s Her THIRD Bathroom Labour

A water birth with a not-so-hygienic twist…

With all of the red flag pregnancy signs – back pains, lack of periods, morning sickness and the small matter of a swollen stomach – most women notice when they’re pregnant. But Kirsty Parker didn’t.

The 25-year-old found out she was expecting a baby after going to the toilet with stomach ache – and delivering her baby daughter Ruby right into the loo itself.

“I just thought I was coming down with a stomach bug,” says Kirsty, who delivered Ruby at her mum’s house in Torrington, Devon, last week. “I had been having slight pains since around 2.30pm but I wasn’t worried about them at all.

“It seemed to happen so quickly. One minute I was fine and the next minute I had given birth to a baby down the toilet.”

Kirsty screamed for her mum to help and together they fished the newborn out of the loo and raced to hospital.

This isn’t the first time this has happened to Kirsty. She gave birth to another girl, Amber, who was born nine months before her sister and in exactly the same way.

Thankfully, both baby girls are absolutely fine – despite their dramatic arrivals. Ruby’s doctors calculate that she was born around ten weeks premature and weighs only 3lb 4oz.

Kirsty’s a rarity. She showed no signs of pregnancy except for gaining a very small amount of weight and feeling “a little moody,” which she put down to having a nine-month-old baby to look after.

And she claims she had been taking the contraceptive pill daily and didn’t have any morning sickness. Kirsty says she would have done things differently if she knew she was pregnant.

“I would not have had any coffee or egg mayonnaise,” she says. “I am very good when I am pregnant and fortunately I am not a very big drinker anyway.”

Kirsty seems to be prone to dramatic deliveries. As well as Amber and now Ruby’s surprising births, she gave birth to Crystal, now seven, in her mum’s bathroom, too. Luckily on the floor, instead of the toilet.

Kirsty did know she was pregnant with Crystal and Amber, but had no idea when she was in labour with either of them.

“As all my previous births have been in a bathroom – that is obviously just where I like to have my children,” she jokes.
