Versace for H&M part II: The cruise collection

Are you ready for another dose of Versace for H&M? Donatella Versace and the Swedish retailer have released pictures of her second collection that débuts in stores on 19 January 2012.

Last month the first Versace for H&M range caused a global fashion frenzy, when dedicated shoppers queued through the night in major cities to get their hands on the colourful prints designs.

The highly anticipated line for men and women sold out in store in minutes and sent the H&M site into meltdown.

For the next release fashionistas can pack away their tents, sleeping bags and thermal flasks as this time around, the Versace H&M Cruise collection is only available on H&M online in Sweden, UK, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Holland - so get your fingers at the ready!

Versace have decided to gear us up for spring/summer early with their 'cruise' collection, an inter-season line that is commonly created for a fashion house’s ready-to-wear line.

If you weren’t a fan of Versace’s classic bold and loud prints from the first collection, you’ll be pleased with the Cruise collection as it’s filled with white, soft pastel shades and subtle playful prints.

The collection includes swimwear, lingerie, clothing and accessories in tropical fruity prints, with vest tops, dresses and shorts in bright summer hues.

Donatella said: “After celebrating the Versace heritage with the iconic collection for H&M, it's so exciting to start 2012 with something completely new.”

“This cruise collection is full of pretty, elegant pieces for women and strong new staples for men, all with a fresh feeling for a new year. It has been such a pleasure working with H&M, I am thrilled to be collaborating with them one more time for this online exclusive collection.”

Fans of H&M’s designer collaborations may be sad to hear this will be the final range for Versace and the high street store - but the good news is you won’t have to wait much longer for another collaboration as celebrity-favourite Marni is the next label to follow in the footsteps of Versace.

The Italian label’s founder Consuelo Castiglioni has designed a spring collection that will arrive in stores worldwide – as well as online – on 8 March.

H&M are rolling out guest designers a plenty with The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for H&M collaboration  which went on  sale yesterday and the next two designer collaborations scheduled for the new year. There is so much affordable designer fashion to look forward to in 2012 – hooray!
