Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth: 11 Times Her Majesty SLAYED Twitter

As everyone in Britain knows, Queen Liz has the best, most hilarious, dryest sense of humour in all the land...behind closed doors.

Happy Birthday Queen Elizabeth!

Our most fabulous of sovereigns turns 89 today.

As everybody is well aware, good Old Queen Liz is one of the funniest, dryest, most mirthful Brits in all the land...behind closed doors.

How do we know? The odd eyebrow raise at Prince Philip, one or two not-entirely-genuine-sounding "how interesting"s and her famous photobombing japes are enough to tell us this.

When the Queen joined Twitter, we were all full of hope for a glimpse of what we all knew was there, bubbling beneath her steely glare.

But alas, with decorum to uphold and overbearing advisors to satisfy, her first (and possibly only) official tweet, was decidedly dull:

Not to worry though, the Queen's been able to live vicariously through her many parody accounts.

One, in particular, seems brilliantly on point when it comes to replicating the sense of humour that we all expect to be typical of our dear Regina.

With a follower count of 1.25 million, Elizabeth Windsor's @Queen_UK account is definitely hitting a sweet spot with British fans.

Who knows, perhaps it really is her - wouldn't that be the most brilliant double-bluff?

Here are 11 of our favourite @Queen_UK tweets to celebrate the birthday of the lady herself:
