The evolution of women's hair in four minutes

If you woke up this morning wondering how exactly your hair would look if you were a cavewoman, you're in luck! A new stop motion video making the rounds on the internet this week showscases the evolution of women's hair from cave people right up to the '90s. From an ancient Grecian-style 'do and a Cleopatra-inspired mane to flouncy Victorian curls and a terrible '80s quiff, the video runs the gamut of hair couture through the ages. However, you'll be aghast to learn that they've left out the Rachel haircut!

And while the video is gaining in popularity online, some have criticised the historical accuracy of the timeline (prim and proper '50s hair coming after long and sleek hippie locks?). There's also been some criticism from users on blogging website Jezebel that while the video is titled 'The Evolution of Women's Hair' it doesn't include any short hairstyles (we know they existed in the past - just think of Twiggy!) or any styles inspired by women of colour.

Regardless of whether the video is factually accurate or inclusive of all women, we still think this art project is captivating and beautiful - not to mention probably painstaking to put together.
