First Kiss: Awkward video captures the moment when complete strangers lock lips

It's one thing snogging a stranger in a club after some bad dancing and a few (too many) drinks, but imagine doing it on camera and completely sober.

Introducing the most awkward video you're likely to see this year: First Kiss. WE only hope the 20 strangers who make out on on a video predicted that it would be plastered all over the internet in no time.

The video has been put together by filmmaker Tatia Pilieva and records the moments before the strangers, who are paired off, actually get to the kissing

Some nervously check the camera's rolling, while others introduce themselves to their kissing partner and one even offers a compliment ('you have nice eyes') to warm things up.

The kisses themselves range from demure to passionate, with some couples really getting into it. It makes for uncomfortable, though compelling viewing (most of the Lifestyle team watched at least some of it through their fingers) and the response has been largely positive.

One user commented: "Adorably and goddamn life-affirmingly lovely," Another: "It's been a rough few weeks. This gives me hope in people." But of course some viewers on YouTube have predictably gone down the homophobic, sexphobic, lifephobic route.

"This is disgusting," and "I hope they tested for herpes before doing this," are two that stood out.

Weird, uncomfortably and pretty awks it may be but add alcohol and dim the lights and you've got most people's Saturday night.
