Do your good deed for the day

When was the last time you smiled at a stranger, gave someone you didn’t know a hug or even spared some change for the homeless?

If it hasn't happened for a while, then today is your chance to do something random you normally wouldn’t.

Today is National Kindness Day and to mark this national day of compassion, we’re going to help you get inspired with this video from the Free Hugs Campaign.

This Free Hugs Campaign is a social movement involving individuals offering hugs to strangers in public places. It started in Australia in 2004 and become internationally famous, with people giving out free hugs in countries the world over.

We think giving someone a hug is a great way to show you care but everyone's idea of kindness is different. So if hugs are not your thing, there are plenty of other ways to show your compassionate side.

Kindness Day UK are asking the nation to be a part of a textwave - this requires you to send at least one ‘kindness’ text during the day or maybe you could pause for 30 seconds to reflect on your selflessness, send somebody flowers or volunteer to spread your generosity.
