Amy Adams Man of Steel UK premiere: Actress stuns alongside Henry Cavill in Valentino

Man of Steel premiere: Amy Adams, Henry Cavill, Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe delight fans as they bring the movie to London

Amy Adams had a hard task on her hands at the Man of Steel premiere.

The 38-year-old redhead may have been the leading lady at the London premiere, but she had to compete for attention against super-hunk Henry Cavill.

One of the most eagerly-awaited Superman movies rolled into the British capital last night, with Man of Steel leading stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and Michael Shannon taking to the red carpet.

And miraculously, Amy - who plays Lois Lane in the movie - more than managed to make her presence known as she stepped out in a chic bandeau Valentino prom dress and demure hair bun.

Posing for snappers, the star dazzled in the frock, which featured a nude satin with a delicate black mesh overlay, which was fitted to the waist and then fanned out in an A-line tutu skirting in a geometric pattern.

Letting the frock - which is from Valentino's Spring 2013 couture collection - do all the talking, the star teamed it with classic black Casadei pumps and drop earrings.

Her chic foray out into the chilly London air didn't stop there either, with the star showcasing the dress perfectly by pulling her tresses up and off her face into a bun at the back of her head.

A black ribbon kept any loose strands from pulling free, with just a hint of blush at her lips and cheeks completing the classically demure look.

The actress beamed as she posed next to Henry Cavill, who caused the hordes of waiting fans to erupt into screams the moment he stepped out of his car.

Looking dapper in a well-tailored Tom Ford midnight-blue suit, the actor smouldered for the cameras before making his way inside the cinema.
