Zara Phillips gives birth to a baby girl

The 32-year-old has given birth to her first child at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital

Zara Phillips has given birth to a baby girl at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

The 32-year-old gave birth this morning (January 17) to a healthy baby girl, as confirmed to Yahoo by Buckingham Palace.

Husband and new dad Mike Tindall was present for the birth and the newest member of the Royal family weighed in at 7lb 12oz.

Zara recently moved in with her mother Princess Anne to Gatcombe Park, just 40 minutes away from the hospital.

The equestrian star was last spotted out on Sunday in Gloucestershire watching her beloved horses race and looked about ready to pop.

No word yet on what Zara will call her firstborn but no doubt the Royal family will be celebrating another new arrival today.

The Olympian married rugby star Mike back in 2011 before announcing her pregnancy back in July, just days before the birth of Prince George.

Looks like George will have a little Royal cousin to play with, although without the fancy title.

Since Princess Anne declined titles for her children Zara and Peter, the new baby will not be HRH.

This new arrival is Princess Anne’s third grandchild, the Queen's fourth great-grandchild and 16th in line to the throne.
