Till Death Do Us Part: Couple Get Married In Morrisons

Unexpected item in the bagging area! Rebecca Wooller and Blake Green get married in Morrisons café where they had their first date

A couple tied the knot in a Morrisons café - after they had their first date there just four months ago.

Rebecca Wooller, 44, and her fiancé Blake Green, 53, enjoyed romantic meals in the store as she was ill and couldn't travel far when they met.

After just two weeks Blake proposed and the couple decided what better place to get hitched than the supermarket.

The couple had a legal ceremony on Saturday (29/1) in the morning at Cambridge Register Office before having a blessing in the cafe in front of around 20 guests and and onlooking shoppers.

Former undertaker Rebecca walked down a red carpet in the seasonal aisle to Disney hit film Frozen's 'Love Is An Open Door'.

The supermarket in Cambourne, Cambs, remained open to customers - and they were all invited to the wedding while they did their shopping.

The couple's wedding was themed around the hit Disney film Frozen which was kept a surprise to them until the big day.

The colour scheme was blue, white and silver and Morrisons provided a special Frozen two-tier wedding cake.

Rebecca was given away by her best friend Jo Benj, 44, who gave a tearful speech during the ceremony.

During her vows to Blake she told him he had 'rescued her' from a dark place and said he was the person she wanted to share her life with.

Her grandson Charlie, five, gave them the rings before they asked their guests to sing along with them to I Only Want To Be With You by Dusty Springfield.

The supermarket provided the venue, cake, flowers and food all free of charge to the couple.

They laid on a wedding breakfast of chicken curry and chips - as this was first meal the couple shared on their first official date.

Wearing a 1950s vintage style cream dress, Rebecca was accompanied down the aisle by her two daughters Naomi, 24 and Rosie, 23 who were her bridesmaids.

Rebecca said: "It was a lovely day. I have been so nervous this last week and busy running around, but it's been just such an amazing day.

"We didn't really have to do that much, Morrisons organised most of it, we just had to sort the flowers, dresses and the cars really - but even that has been stressful.

"From the start it just always felt right to be married here. I was so unwell when we first met that we never really went out, except to come here.

"Sometimes we would come here just to get out the house. Then one day Blake said we've never actually gone out for a meal together and he said the chicken curry and chips here is really nice.

"That was our first real date. It's crazy to think that was just four months ago and now we're married.

"We wanted to have chicken curry and chips at the wedding because that's what we had on our first date.

"I am so grateful to Morrisons for everything they've done. I never expected them to be so generous and supportive, they really have been amazing."

The couple, who now live in Cambridge, met in September last year when they were living as neighbours in a house that had been transformed into flats.

They were introduced by their landlady after she brought Blake round to help fix her microwave - but she was left red-faced after realising it wasn't plugged in.

But that didn't put him off and Blake, a pharmaceutical manager, realised Becca was the one for him.

When Rebecca, who has been married twice previously, became ill with a bad chest infection and then a urine infection Blake was her knight in shining armour.

Canadian national Blake, 53, proposed just two weeks after they got together - initially buying a ring from eBay and then surprising her with a Vera Wang diamond ring.

One of the store's deputy managers Gemma Avery helped organise the nuptials.

She said: "It's nice for the store to be involved in something that's special to the couple.

"It's been a long time coming - we had so many people asking about it and they said they would all come in to watch.

"All the customers have been excited - it's something different and positive for the community and it's really nice to be a part of it."

The newly-wed couple now plan to spend a week at their holiday home in Folkestone.

The couple still shop at the store despite it now being a 20-minute drive away for them.
