Vitamin

Vitamins are nutrients or minerals obtained through the diet and include vitamin A, B vitamins (thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, biotin, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12 and folate), C, D, E and K. Each vitamin has different functions and there are 13 vitamins the body needs to develop and function properly. Vitamin supplements come in a range of forms but should not replace a healthy, varied diet. It is vital to get a balance of all vitamins to prevent deficiencies; for example, if you don't get enough vitamin D, you could develop rickets.
