Victoria Beckham chooses London's Dover Street for her first standalone store

VB will finally have her own UK store to house her fashion collections, choosing fashionable Dover Street

Fashion fans rejoice, Victoria Beckham's eponymous label will have its own home in London by the end of the year.

Currently stocked in high-end department stores (think Harrods), VB will now have a whole three floors on fashionable Dover Street (Mayfair) to show off her pricey but perfect outfits.

It's good news for the British celebs who love her designs - including Carol Vorderman, Kim Sears and Jessica Ennis-Hill. And it's not surprising that Victoria has picked the UK for her first standalone store - it's her biggest market, followed by the UK.

And the rest of us on more average salaries can at least potter about and look at the pretty things.

"I think the time is now because I know my customer," Beckham said. "It will be the first time that the people will really be able to see the brand through my eyes."

All of the VB brands will be on show including Victoria Beckham, Victoria by Victoria Beckham, denim, optical and accessories.

A notable perfectionist, VB hasn't cut any costs on the interior of her new shop. She's enlisted the architectual wizardry of Farshid Moussavi, who worked on the Olympic Park, and hopes to drill a big hole in the middle, connecting all the floors.

"[Moussavi] is a woman who loves fashion as well," VB told WWD. "She has quite a conceptual eye, which I like. We want to make something different without making it overly complicated. I just want it to feel real for me."

But though she's chosen her native country, she's not letting go of her New York fashion roots. She'll be opening an office there and we reckon she'll stick to New York Fashion Week, at least for time being, where her designs fit so well.
