UK’s Most Pampered Babies: Couple Dress Their Newborn Twins In A Different Designer Outfit Each Day

This pint-sized pair may be adorable, but they cost their parents a pretty penny and even ride around in a pram more expensive than North West’s…

We all know that babies are expensive, so most parents try to cut costs wherever possible. But not Louise and Dan Hill, who are willing to splash out a whopping £20,000 on outfits for their three-month-old twins.

The couple has hit the headlines after dressing their dinky duo in a different designer, yes designer, outfit for the first 100 days of their lives. That’s a lot of Baby Dior and Ralph Lauren we’re talking about.

In fact, the cheapest ensemble in the twins’ wardrobes are two Marks and Spencer sleepsuits – costing £35 a pair. More than most parents shell out on outfits for their newborn. The priciest items the babies wear cost an astonishing £500 for a pair.

It’s not just their clothes that are expensive. Their pram costs more than the one bought for North West by her mum Kim Kardashian and they both have milk bottles encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

And while little Isabella and Jacob look undeniably cute in their get-ups, which are documented daily on their Twitter, Instagram AND Facebook profiles, some may argue that it’s a little futile to spend some a large amount on clothes that they’ll grow out of – or throw up on – in no time.

However, dad Dan, who appears on TV’s ‘Storage Hunters’, insists that the twins aren’t spoilt and says the reaction to their eye-watering spending sprees has been positive.

“We have had quite a good response,” the dad told Mail Online. “People always want to know what the twins are wearing and which designers Louise has chosen.

“She often finds a lot from Spain and from smaller boutiques so the clothes are often very classical and not the sort of thing you would pick up in Mothercare.”

Businesswoman Louise, 36, says that her background’s partially to blame for the amount she and Dan spend on their children. “I’m originally from Essex and in my circle of friends we like to dress well in designer clothes and handbags, so it is an extension of how I like to dress,” she says.

Both Dan and Louise say that their children are mini versions of themselves. “I’m known as Dapper Dan on Storage Hunters because I like wearing designer suits, so our twins are a reflection of us really. We wouldn’t go out of the house looking scruffy so neither should our children.”

But there’s a deeper reason behind all of the lavish spending on the tiny tots. The couple struggled to conceive and thought they may never have children. Ultimately, they turned to IVF and after three rounds, at a cost of £25,000, were thrilled when they discovered they would become parents.

While the couple have no plans to stop with their excessive purchases for the time being, they do want their twins to understand the value of money when they’re older.

“Neither Dan nor I have wealthy backgrounds that we grew up in, we have both worked hard and earned our money so we know the value of it,” says Louise. “A lot of people don't realise that.

“Some people may look at it as them being spoilt but if someone couldn't have a child and then they finally did give birth then they would want to give that baby everything they possible could.”
