Top 10 shapewear pieces on the high street

Ten of the best figure-enhancing underwear and shapewear pieces every woman should own this Christmas

Shapewear has become the foundation of special occasion outfits and with celebrities freely admitting they couldn’t do without it, it’s no longer a well-kept secret.

With a little help from some body sculpting pieces and clever underwear, tight, clingy and even body-con styles are suddenly possible without the worry of unflattering lumps and bumps ruining a sleek physique.

Celebrities from Kim Kardashian (32), to Katy Perry (28), have been quick to endorse the necessity of a good pair of control pants and, the Wide Awake singer loves her shapewear so much she recently admitted she feels fat without Spanx under her daring outfits.

Katy attended the UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York City, wearing a tight, floor-length, navy Naeem Khan dress with a matching cape.

She said: “I feel like my fat is sticking out so bad right now. I almost always wear Spanx, but not tonight.”

It seems Katy isn’t the only one who can’t leave the house without shapewear - 64 per cent of women feel that control wear increases their confidence levels.
