Children are like sponges – they absorb everything they hear, including the words you definitely don’t want them to know.

So one thing this video will teach you is that if you don’t want your child to know any swear words, try your absolute best not to swear in his earshot.

We bet this toddler’s parents are kicking themselves after he told a monkey to ‘f*** off’ while on a safari. The blond-haired, blue-eyed child may look angelic but he definitely knows the meaning off the F word.

The home video begins nicely enough, with the child’s parents talking about a monkey that’s climbed on top of the family’s car. The mum instructs the child, Hugo, to look at the camera before he spots the monkey and sweetly tells it to F off. Charming.

The video ends before we can hear how the parents react to their son’s outburst, but they can be heard giggling in disbelief as the footage cuts out. However, they did caption the YouTube video "We're not proud of this, but had to share," suggesting that their two-year-old son's swearing shocked them as much as it did us.

No doubt they’ll be more careful about what they say in front of their child in the future.

While it’s near impossible to make sure your tot avoids swear words and potty talk altogether, there are plenty of ways that you can limit his exposure to them and make sure he doesn’t make a habit of saying them.  It’s never too early to teach your tot that certain words aren’t OK.
