What men are REALLY thinking about in bed

British men wish they were more adventurous in bed and want more sexual partners, according to new survey

Many of us often wonder exactly what our partners are thinking, but it seems when it comes to sex - the question is best left unasked.

What British men really think about in bed has been revealed today and threesomes, sex with colleagues and being intimate with female friends is top of their list.

Around 50 per cent of engaged men secretly fantasise about sex with a female friend, while 18 per cent want to be more adventurous and sleep with a colleague.

Secretly wanting to bed an ex was on the list for 32 per cent of the men surveyed, with just under a third of men in a relationship wanting to sleep with their own friend's girlfriend.

In a new, 'men only' survey by Cosmopolitan magazine, it was revealed that British men want to be more adventurous in bed and have more sexual partners - regardless of being married or engaged.

While most men have slept with just one to three women, an energetic 3 per cent claim to have slept with over 100 women - but only half have had a one night stand.

And when asked if they could change one thing about their sexual past, 36 per cent said they wished they’d slept with more women - with 32 per cent regretting not being more adventurous.

Of the men surveyed, just under half said they'd cheated - but 82 per cent said they felt guilty and said 'boredom' was their reason for being unfaithful.

But while the sex survey will ignite inner worries in many women, it also showed what men are looking for in their ideal partner.

Confidence is apparently key, with 76 per cent of men wanting a partner who is enjoying what she's doing.

Speaking about the results, Louise Court, editor of Cosmopolitan, revealed: “British men are pretty hypocritical when it comes to sex.

"As a lot of the men we surveyed said they'd be put off if a girl had slept with between 6 and 20 men – while they wanted to sleep with loads of women. It takes two to tango.

"They love to see themselves as these Casanova figures having this fantasy world of sex. It’s often not very realistic."

She continued: "It’s very easy for men to reveal their innermost thoughts from the comfort of their armchairs, living in a lad culture with no consequences.

"But they need to separate fantasy from reality – a lot of women would like to have sex with David Beckham and have a wardrobe full of Louboutins but it doesn't mean it's going to happen."

The survey also unearthed further secrets in men's sexual habits; such as 37 per cent of men who watch porn feel the need to hide it from their partner, while 15 per cent have hooked up sexually with someone they’ve met on Facebook.

It seems British men like variety too, with 72 per cent having had text sex and 37 per cent filming the 'deed.' But it seems the number one fantasy is still a threesome - with over half of men wanting to give it a go.
