This Woman Was ‘Too Pretty’ To Find Love On Dating Websites

Paula Jayne Allen believes her good looks made it impossible to find a man as they just wanted a one night stand or to show her off to their mates

For every story you hear about couples finding love online, you hear a horror story to match.

And one woman has opened up about the ‘hell’ she experienced on dating websites, admitting it was impossible for her to find a man through online dating.

Paula Jayne Allen from Chelmsford, Essex, signed up to online dating to meet the man of her dreams – but simply found men that wanted to sleep with her because of her good looks.

Is it the case now that more and more people are flocking to these sites for quick hook-ups and extra marital affairs, and our chance of actually finding true love is getting slimmer and slimmer?

Many of us assume sites such as Tinder are used mainly for hook-ups, but it seems the more mainstream online dating sites are used for the same reason - well, according to Paula they are.

It sounds like men were more interested in her looks and propositioning her for sex than actually getting to know her personally - although she did eventually get her Happily Ever After.

“I decided to try it because all of the sites guarantee to match you up with someone who shares your interests, so it's more about personality, and I was fed up with all of the men in the bars looking for skirt,” the 33-year-old told the Mail Online.

“But it made no difference. You'd regularly get people getting in contact just saying, "Fancy meeting up for a f**k?"

She added that many of the men just wanted to use her as their mistress or simply show her off to their mates.

“You'd get married men just wanting fun and you'd get people saying, ‘I just need someone for one night, can you do me a favour?’” she said.

“It really was truly awful. When it came to trying to find a man who would see me as more than just 'piece of meat,' it was so hard. I just felt like eye candy.”

Paula eventually found love with her teenage sweetheart, who she first met 14 years ago.

The pair dated for a few months when she was 19 but they split because he was too quiet whereas she was too outgoing.

But they bumped into each other at a party five years ago and fell in love all over again. The couple have two children together, William and Molli-Jayne.

She’s speaking out after an interview surfaced online of size 24 Verity Brown who is losing weight to try and find her dream man.

Paula doesn't want sympathy for the fact she had difficulty on dating websites. She wants women to know that a) looks aren’t everything in a relationship and b) you shouldn’t have to change to find love.

“I didn't change a thing about me, even though when I was joining these agencies, all of these men were only interested in one thing,” she said.

“And I still found my husband at the end of it all. Just be yourself, no one should have to change.

“If you're truly happy in who you are you shouldn't have to change a single thing about you, because someone else will love that happiness - it will shine through in everything that you do.”

We couldn't agree more.
