This Has To Be The Best Parenting Instagram Account We’ve Ever Seen

There are lots of spot on Insta accounts out there, but this has to be the cream of the crop

Parenting isn’t all sunshine and rainbows – it also includes stepping on Lego pieces (ow!), rustling up inappropriate and somewhat unhealthy meals and an endless stream of cleaning and tidying up.

Which is why we love the @averageparentproblems Instagram account. It’s filled to the brim with exactly this type of thing.

“When you walk all the way to the park, and the kids are fast asleep once you get there.[Instagram/AverageParentProblems]

“When you want to sleep in on a Saturday, but you have a child,” the account’s description reads - giving you a great example of the dry humour associated with the account.

The brainchild of parenting blogger Ilana Wiles, aka Mommy Shorts, the account is filled with hilarious pics and captions.

She told BuzzFeed that she wanted to create something for the ‘average parent’.

“The parents I relate to are the ones who don’t have space to put all the toys away, who serve their kids hot dogs more often then they’d like to admit, and who consider their day a success if they get everyone to school on time,” Wiles explains.

The account, launched just a few weeks ago, already has almost 30,000 followers – so I think we can all agree it’s a raving success.

“When both kids want to sit in the hamper, but only one fits comfortably," the caption for this all-too-familiar picture reads.

This is another incredibly familiar photo for parents worldwide.

“When your tiny baby takes up all the space in your king size bed," witty Wiles wrote alongside this snapshot.

This recent pic, posted on US Mother's Day, also looked scarily recognisable.

“When you son’s Mother’s Day card isn’t heartwarming, but it’s accurate," the caption reads.

But this photo has to be the winner. "Nose picking is for added artistic effect," the photo's caption read.
