This 100-Year-Old Woman's Birthday Celebration Puts Yours To Shame

If you'd reached the incredible age of 100-years-old, what would you do to celebrate?

Most of us would probably tuck into a large cake and treat ourselves to a deliciously calorific cup of hot chocolate. After all, good dieting got us this far, we may as well indulge now that we've made it.

But for Georgina Harwood, of South Africa, sitting still with a hot beverage was not the order of the day.

To herald her centenary, Georgina decided the only way to mark the occasion was to throw herself out of a plane over Cape Town!

Gulp.

This isn't her first daredevil experience though.

Georgeina didn't wait until she reached 100 to complete her first skydive. She did that in 2007, when she was 92-years-old.

And it won't be her last adrenaline kick either.

Since her most recent aerial mission, the pensioner, who usually walks with the aid of a cane, has gone shark diving, dropping into a cage in order to come face to face with giant predators of the sea.

Speaking to News24 about her adventurous spirit, she said: "100 has come and I am still reasonably mobile - I am still able to enjoy a party too."

"I've been to the top of Table Mountain and I play croquet...I'm not really a daredevil, but I do the jobs that come my way [...] and I enjoy doing them," she expanded.

Georgia, whose husband died over ten years ago, is still as socially consious as ever, and is donating money from her birthday celebrations to the National Sea Rescue Institute.
