Mark Godfrey, managing director of the Deer Park Country House Hotel, near Honiton, Devon, described the luxury tree house as 'truly unique'.

The one bed tree house was handcrafted by specialists Blue Forest using materials including traditional water reed thatch and red cedar cladding.

He said: "We've always loved the idea of having a tree house in the grounds but this has far excelled all our expectations.

"It is more beautiful than we could have imagined and, with it being the first thatched tree house in Devon, it stands out as somewhere very different and hugely romantic to stay."
