Size 10 Party Girl Gives Birth To Surprise Baby Thinking It’s Back Pain

Sophie Aldridge, 20, still had periods and didn't put on any weight - even wearing CROP TOPS eight months into her pregnancy

She had no idea she was pregnant when she woke up with crippling back pain.

But when 20-year-old party girl Sophie Aldridge went to hospital she ended up going into labour and giving birth to a surprise baby half an hour later.

The carer from Dover, Kent, had no idea she was expecting and was still going out drinking and partying with her friends until she gave birth.

Sophie still had periods and didn't put on any weight, continuing to wear her size 10 clothes and CROP TOPS eighth months into her pregnancy.

It all started in November 2013 when she woke up in the middle of the night with severe back pain, which she reckoned was down to her periods as she was due to come on.

But her condition deteriorated the next day and her mum took her to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, where she was given an anti-sickness injection and sleeping pill before being sent home.

Shortly after arriving back home, the pain became unbearable for her and she ended up being rushed to hospital by ambulance.

Whilst in transit Sophie told a paramedic she thought she had wet herself and it was at that moment that paramedics dropped the bombshell that she was actually in labour with her first child.

She gave birth to son Thomas less than half an hour after arriving at A&E, with the baby weighing 5lbs 8oz.

She had nothing prepared for the baby, with not a single nappy in her possession as she returned home to the house she shared with her parents.

"I was due to come on to my period that day so I thought that must have been why I was having such bad pains,” she said.

"I know it might sound really stupid to some people but I literally had no idea I was pregnant - I didn't have any symptoms.

"I didn't get morning sickness, I stayed wearing my size ten clothes, I had regular periods throughout the pregnancy and I didn't have any cravings.

"To give birth there and then, like I did was absolutely terrifying. It was a big shock to everyone when I suddenly arrived home with a baby.

"When I gave birth I didn't even have a nappy to my name, let alone, clothes, pram, cot, etc. I had nothing.

"When I came home from hospital my friends and family had come together and donated nearly everything me and Thomas needed which was so kind."

Sophie, who had no idea she was carrying a baby, was still enjoying frequent nights out drinking and partying with her pals in Dover.

"I was still going out and getting drunk with my friends whilst I was pregnant - I had no idea I was pregnant, obviously,” she said.

"I was still wearing crop-tops and mini skirts, I didn't have a bump or anything."

The 20-year-old is now a happy mum-of-one, calling her son her ‘little miracle.’

"I just remember telling my mum I thought I had wet myself and the next thing I remember I was in hospital with a baby in my arms!” she said.

"Everything was just so quick I didn't really have time to gauge what was happening. I was only in labour for 30 minutes.

"In a way I'm so glad it all happened - I wouldn't change Thomas for the world now. I like to call him my little miracle."
