Sainsbury’s Gok Wan collection is flying off the shelves

After months of sneak previews and anticipation, Gok Wan’s new fashion range has finally arrived in Sainsbury’s.

Gok for TU is shaking up supermarket fashion, with 2,105 red wrap dresses sold yesterday in 200 stores stocking the collection, it seems women across the country are lining up to look good in Gok’s low-priced Sainsbury’s clothing.

The 13-piece collection, with items ranging from £20 to £45 in price, boosts shape-enhancing properties to 'flaunt, flirt and celebrate curves.’

The red wrap dress has already become a hit with customers as women scrambled to get their hands on the shape-shifting £40 dress. It has a built-in sculpting slip to create a smooth hourglass shape and suck in all lumps and bumps.

Gok’s ‘curve-celebrating’ collection also includes basic vest tops and leggings alongside Oriental print skirts and wide-leg pants in an autumnal palette of cherry, terracotta, teal and black.

Speaking at the preview for his range, Gok said: “I’ve spent the last few months working through every detail and believe we’ve delivered attainable and affordable design like never before.

“The whole idea was to think about female body shape and to make sure that as many of the pieces would fit as many different people as possible.

“When you're going to produce so many thousands of one product, you want it to be as versatile as possible.”
Adding a piece of his stylist advice, Gok encouraged his customers to get creative.
“People need to be able to wear it differently, put their own stamp on it.”

The style guru is away on tour in Australia but he was still able to keep up with the reaction to his first high-street collection via Twitter.

Stacey Holt tweeted Gok Wan saying: ‘Just in sainsburys and cannot get near your clothing range! Would have taken a photo but security was nearby lol.’

Kelly Parks also tweeted: ‘Yeay! Got my grubby little mitts on @therealgokwan's wrap dress in red, black and floral :D.’

Lucky for some!
