Sainsbury's Christmas Advert 2014: Does It Beat John Lewis?

The supermarket's commercial goes completely OTT to ensure sales for Christmas: Which is your favourite?

We all cooed over the cute John Lewis penguin and got excited about the Christmas magic with Marks and Sparks' two fairies, and now Sainsbury's has revealed its commercial for the crucial Christmas sales period.

It's a four-minute long extraveganza that tugs at every string in our hearts, teaming up with the British Legion to recreate the famous Christmas day football truce of 1914.

Some have described it as a '**** you' to John Lewis, and most of Twitter appears to be in tears.

But are we the only ones that find it rather distasteful to exploit such an emotional historic event to sell turkey?
