RDA

This stands for Recommended Daily Allowance, and is a term referred to in conjunction with food substances and food content, nutrients, alcohol, energy and other drink substances. They are guidelines to help individuals make informed decisions about what they eat and how much, as too much or too little of certain elements of the diet can be harmful to health. There is an RDA for calories, different types of fat, sugar and salt as well as nutrients and other dietary elements, including fibre and protein. Most food labels outline the RDAs of these elements.
