Princess Charlotte Gifted With Vaccines From Canadian Government

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter has been on the receiving end of a lot of presents since her arrival, but this one is without a doubt the most useful

Princess Charlotte is only just over a week old and already making a difference to the world.

To honour her birth, the Canadian government has made an incredible donation to pro-vaccine group Immunize Canada.

They’ve made a $100,000 donation to mark the princess’ arrival, which will help plenty of families get the access to and information about vaccines that we take for granted in the UK.

The country’s prime minister, Stephen Harper, says the vaccination donation recognises that the royal family has always been concerned with the health and wellbeing on children, and deemed this donation a great way to support their values.

The Canadian government made a similar donation in celebration of Prince George’s birth in 2013. They gave $100,000 to a child-focused cyber bullying charity.

It not just globally that Princess Charlotte’s making an impact – she’s given her great-grandmother reason to celebrate, too.

While hosting Buckingam Palace’s first garden party of the season yesterday, the Queen reportedly spoke out about her great-grandchild for the first time. She spoke of her happiness that Kate and Wills’ have had a daughter, saying, “We love having another girl.”

Dressed in a summery lemon colour coat and hat, with her signature broach and pearl necklace, it’s the first time that the Queen has expressed any public opinion about the birth of the newest addition to the family.

Kate, Wills and their children weren’t in attendance at the event, as they’re currently at their Norfolk estate, Anmer Hall. But the Queen did get a chance to visit Charlotte at Kensington Palace last week, before the young family left for their country home.
