Posting an advertisement in the British magazine ‘The Lady,’ it’s revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on the hunt for a live-in housekeeper, reports The Telegraph.

The royal couple are in need of someone to give them a hand around the house (the house in question being Anmer Hall in Norfolk) after their previous housekeeper Amy Wood resigned.

Catherine, 33, and William, 32, are looking for someone with previous experience and who’s comfortable around pets as they may be required to care for the family’s cocker spaniel, Lupo.

“Housekeeper sought for a large family home in Norfolk. We are looking for someone with previous housekeeping experience, ideally within a large private house, and preferably within a family environment with dogs,” writes the description.

The housekeeper will also be required to help out with the food shopping and dealing with deliveries (the Duchess has previously been spotted in Waitrose) and caring for their clothing.

You didn’t think Kate and Wills did their own washing did you? Think of all those dirty bibs!

“Main duties will include: cleaning all areas of the house to a high standard; caring for and maintaining the home owners’ clothing; cleaning silverware and glassware; purchasing groceries and general provisions for the house; and dealing with deliveries. On occasions, the role will also involve the preparation of meals, assisting with childcare and caring for dogs,” says the description.

Of course, being a housekeeper for the Cambridges would be a role shrouded in secrecy (it’s no surprise we haven’t heard a wink from their ex-staff) so the candidate MUST be discreet.

“Discretion and loyalty is paramount,” emphasises the description.

“A current valid UK driving license is essential.”

The job is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, but the candidate will have ‘the flexibility to work during the weekend on occasion, and additional hours if ever required.’

It’s thought the employee will work alongside one-year-old Prince George’s nanny Maria Borrallo and Kate’s mother Carole, who’s been getting the property ready for the family’s arrival.

Anmer Hall, on the grounds of Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, was given to the royal couple by the Queen after they got married.

While Prince George was brought up largely in Kensington Palace, the family are expected to make the secluded Norfolk residence their permanent base when William starts his new job as an air ambulance pilot nearby.

He will begin his new role for East Anglian Air Ambulance in summer 2015, giving him a couple of months to spend at home with his family.

The second royal baby is due next month although it’s not confirmed whether the pregnant Duchess is expecting a little Prince or Princess.

Kate will make her final appearance before going on maternity leave at a St Patrick’s Day parade in Aldershot tomorrow.
