Prada Outfits For A Computer Game? Check Out Final Fantasy's Fash-Over!

So strong is the allure of Prada that apparently even virtual people are clammering to get their hands on it. Sound a bit crazy? Well so is this latest collaboration between the revered Italian brand and computer game Final Fantasy XIII-2. Crazy cool that is!

Yup, for its 25th anniversary the virtual cast of one of the gaming world's most popular franchises has been given the best ever birthday present courtesy of Arena Homme+. They'll be gracing the pages of the magazine's next issue in an amazing array of bespoke designer threads. Is it possible to be jealous of a computer game? Because we think we might be...

Traditionally Final Fantasy fashion conjures up images of what you'd likely call 'assassin chic' - utilitarian leg holsters, tough desert boots (nope, not Prince Harry style, think more Doc Martens on steroids) and, erm, boob tubes! If you were thinking of accessorising then how about a massive scythe?! Well, now that's all looking a bit Final Fantasy XIII-1.

This time around it's all about a softer silhouette - that sleek studded pyjama suit [above left] will do for starters! Much more civilised and the relaxed look will surely lull troublesome foes into a false sense of security. Or how about this patterned v-neck top [above right]? Your enemies will be overcome with err, admiration. Well, cutting people down needs some sharp threads, non?

Arena Homme+'s editor, Max Pearmain, revealed that direction and escapism were the key themes for the spread and confessed that "having a visually stunning videogame franchise such as Final Fantasy work alongside us and a leading fashion brand like Prada to create something so unique is incredible". Yoshinori Kitase, who produced the latest version of the game, agreed saying the images were 'vibrant' and dubbed the project 'a very exciting opportunity'. No wonder, it's rather a departure from the norm for the hardy sims so familiar to gamers worldwide.

Now we've seen the pics we're rather liking this new spin on cyberware - after all, plenty of fab illustrated characters have already embraced designer make-overs (who could forget the fabulous Lula when she popped up in the pages of Grazia's Big Fashion Issue this spring?).

In fact, we can think of a few characters who could do with a bit of a wardrobe overhaul - surely it's time Mario and Luigi hung up those daggy dungarees? Sonic the Hedgehog could do worse than swapping in his tired old sport shoes for some Adidas Olympic trainers. And Crash Bandicoot? Jessica Alba could tell him a thing or two about coloured denim! Time to get those designers on direct dial.

Let us know what you think of Prada upping their fashion (computer) game *sorry* below, plus catch all the outfits in Arena Homme+ which is out on April 12th...
