Heart-melting snaps of a toddler and his puppy go viral

Meet Jessica Shyba (mum), Beau (son) and Theo (pup), whose adorable naptime snaps have taken the internet by storm.

In an Intagram feed that's cute overload, Jessica has shared pictures of her boy and his dog after they fell asleep on her one day - and a daily ritual was born.

Jessica chronicles her family's experiences on her blog, Momma's Gone City, and she's been using the popularity of the sleepy puppy pics to raise money for a local animal charity.

The story of #theoandbeau started when, after a few nights of leaving their new puppy out of the bedroom and listening to his cries, Jessica gave up and let the tiny mongrel sleep with her.

One day during her son Beau's nap, Theo fell asleep with him too.

The next day, Theo waited outside the bedroom for naptime, beginning what Jessica describes as: 'the most organic and beautiful relationship I have ever witnessed.'

"Each day, Theo meets us at naptime and waits patiently for Beau to fall asleep. By that time, he's also sleepy, so when I hoist him onto our bed, he stumbles over Beau and plops right down on top of him. And there they sleep, entwined, for at least two hours," Jessica explains.

Jessica began to share the snaps of the pair using the hashtag #theoandbeau and gathered an army of fans who've completely fallen for the young friends.

"I was practically howling at the cuteness and nearly woke them both up," Jessica remembers.

On her blog, Jessica says: "Every day, another sweet nap. Sweeter than nearly anything I think I’ve ever seen or experienced. These moments I not only look forward to, but if I avoid any possibly opportunity to thwart the sacred puppy and boy nap."

Jessica plans to continue posting her naptime pictures, giving us a daily dose of cute.
