Barbie, Sindy, One Direction, Tiny Tears and, er, Walter White? Breaking Bad's character dolls have caused quite a stir after going on sale in the toy giant

Parents Furious At Toys R Us' Breaking Bad Character Dolls Holding Crystal Meth

Parents in the US have spoken out against Toys R Us for stocking 'a new low' in children's toys - Breaking Bad action figures complete with cool accessories such as, er,  crystal meth rocks and bags of drug money.

Say, what?!

The 'collectors' edition set of characters from the popular Sony series is aimed at adults and teenagers over the age of 14 but frankly, most of the mums complaining aren't too keen on even their 15 year old kids idolising drug dealers.

The figurines are on sale for $17.99 (£11.16) and depict the Breaking Bad characters in a variety of outfits from the show - including the hazmet suits worn while Walter White and Jesse Pinkman make their drugs, and props such as guns and blue bags of the crystal meth.

The show, which ended last year, told the story of Chemistry teacher Walter White who teamed up with a drop out student Jesse Pinkman to make and sell crystal meth. White discovers he has cancer and as well as paying for treatment, he decides drug dealing is the only way he can make enough money to take care of his family if he doesn't make it.

It's an adult show but as with all these programmes, teenagers watch it in droves.

One mum in Florida, Susan Schrivjer, has set up an online petition at Change.org to have the dolls removed, and went on the Today Show to explain her stance.

Putting aside the fact that we kind of want a mini Walter White of our own, surely anyone can see this is a pretty bad idea.

“Anything to do with drugs is not doing the right thing,” said Schrivjer. “I just think they need to look at their vision and values as they call them.”

Many parents have taken to Toys R Us' Facebook page to complain.

One wrote: “Nothing says toys for kids like an action figure with a bag of crystal meth. I can’t wait for my 15 year to grow up like that.”

Schrivjer's petition reads: “Toys R Us is well known around the world for their vast selection of toys for children of all ages. However their decision to sell a Breaking Bad doll, complete with a detachable sack of cash and a bag of meth, alongside children’s toys is a dangerous deviation from their family friendly values.

“That’s why I’m calling on Toys "R" Us to immediately stop selling the Breaking Bad doll collection in their stores and on their website.”

Bryan Cranston, who plays White, seems amused by the whole affair, tweeting drily:

But the petition is growing in momentum with almost 6,000 signatures.

A spokesman for the toyshop told NBC News: "The product packaging clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up. The toys are located in the adult action figure area of our stores."

But if you want one, you'd best order it now, we can't imagine Toys R Us will be stocking them for much longer.
