Owl Cafes Are Here (Well, In Tokyo), Because Cats Are So Last Year

You know what you need with your coffee? An owlface staring at you while you drink it

Oh those clever Japanese cafe entrepreneurs. Not only did they mastermind the now-worldwide phenomenon of Cat Cafes, they've now gone one step further (better?).

Introducing the Owl Cafe.

Yes! Enjoy a cuppa while stroking a feathered friend.

However, it's worth noting that owls cannot be potty trained. So watch your coffee.

Owl Cafes are increasingly popular in Japan, but the original and best one seems to be Fukoro no Mise, based in Tokyo. And best because it lets you actually hold and play with the owls. ZOMG!

If you've been to London's cat cafe you will know that these sort of things usually include very strict regulations that allow you to stroke but definitely not pick up and plonk cat on your lap. Which is no fun.

Just like the cat cafes, if you want your owl-time you have to book a in a visit and pay a fee. Then you get to be surrounded by up to 30 owls (in a good way, not a scary birds of prey way, and we assume they get fed their dead mice off the premises).

Does this beat the Rat Cafe?

Can you actually think of anything better than sitting down to tea and cake with an owl on your head? Because we can't.

Though we will admit the bigger ones are quite scary and they are birds of prey and it might get a bit freaky. Maybe we'll just have the small ones.
