Online Shopping: The Pictures Vs The Reality

Online shopping a dress Jaimie Alexander Wore Won't Turn Anyone Into Jaimie Alexander, soz

We're all guilty of seeing a dress on a celebrity or on a model online and thinking we would look amazing in it. But most of us don't post the unflattering reality on the internet for all to see.

One woman in China had no such qualms - happily posting herself wearing the same dress seen on Jaimie Alexander at the Thor: The Dark World permiere in 2013 - with rather less wow-factor.

And of course, the snaps have gone viral.

And herein lies an important lesson. A-listers can't put their great red carpet looks down to stylists entirely - they all look pretty good without the red carpet couture. And wearing a dress that Jaimie Alexander once wore will not give you the bod of Jaimie Alexander. Sadly.

We're not sure why the lady decided to buy the revealing dress. Perhaps she believed it was more of a body-stocking, stomach-holding-in affair, but in all honestly, you can't blame the garment for false advertising.

And even on the model it doesn't look great in every shot.

The copy of the original daring Azzaro Couture gown was bought from eCommerce site Taobao and was reportedly described as 'soft, comfortable, breathable'. Which it very well may have been, but it's also fairly obscene.

Even on Alexander it left very little to the imagination, particularly from the side angle.
