One mum's £50,000 IVF struggle


Myleene Klass talks to Anya Sizer, who was so desperate for a second child she embarked on a fifth round of IVF treatment despite enduring two miscarriages and four failed IVF attempts at a cost of £50,000.

Every year, thousands of desperate couples sacrifice their time, emotions and thousands of pounds in pursuit of their dream baby.

The average IVF spend is £5,000 and, while around 15,000 children are born every year as a result of the treatment, just a quarter of IVF cycles end with a baby being born safely.

Anya and her husband were given the odds of 1 in 125,000 of ever conceiving even with IVF but, against these odds, their first child Hope was born.

However, the couple were determined to continue beyond the miscarriages and failed IVF attempts to bring Hope a sibling.
