Nigella Lawson goes (nearly) make-up free on the cover of Vogue

The Taste judge graces the iconic magazine cover as she admits she was 'terrified' to go bare faced

Nigella Lawson is not only one of the UK’s most beloved cooks but is also one of the most desirable women in the world.

So when we heard she was going to be gracing the cover of British Vogue we were obviously excited.

When the eagerly anticipated cover was unveiled we were not disappointed.

Surprised, yes but not disappointed.

The Taste judge opted to forgo her usual 60s style heavy eyeliner and perfectly contoured cheeks in favour of a more pared down beauty look and the results are rather special.

Nigella, 54, hasn’t exactly had the best year and choosing to appear on the cover of the world’s most iconic fashion magazine without her signature style can’t have been the easiest decision.

"I was terrified of being photographed without make-up," she admitted to Vogue, "and I hate having my looks talked up.  It always makes me feel I'm going to be a disappointment in the flesh."

The food connoisseur and mother of two needn’t have worried.

Dressed in an exquisite green lace Burberry Prorsum dress with her raven locks in a messy chignon, she looks more like a classic beauty than ever.

Nigella has spoken about her love for make-up before, revealing that her penchant for liquid eyeliner came from watching her mum get ready when she was a girl.

Photographed by Nathaniel Goldberg, the cover star also appears in a black column dress with a plunging neckline that displays two of her many incredible assets.

With her dark brows, rosy cheeks and blush pink lips we have to say we’re loving the new look Nigella!
