Myleene's breastfeeding masterclass

In the latest episode of Bumps, Babies and Beyond, we join Sarah Bridges, who runs a breastfeeding support group for mums.

[See also: Should you breastfeed in public?]

Sarah demonstrates some common breastfeeding problems such as positioning, attachment and making sure that the baby is latching on properly. If the baby is not latched on correctly it can lead to breastfeeding becoming painful and difficult.

Two other mums demonstrate the breastfeeding positions that work best for them, including the ‘rugby position’.

Sarah reminds us that breastfeeding is something that you have to do many times a day so it’s important for it to feel right. Her three tips are:

  • remember to keep the baby’s tummy to you

  • be sure that the baby is latched on correctly, (chin to skin),

  • and make sure you are really comfortable.
