Mum And Toddler’s Hilarious Photos Depict Parenthood Perfectly

Life with a two-year-old ain’t easy – but it sure is fun

If there was ever a person to cleverly capture the sheer madness and hilarity of being a parent, it’s a professional photographer like Anna Angenend.

The 23-year-old photographer is a mum to a two-year-old daughter, Mia, and like any mum has experienced the advanced level of juggling that comes with being a parent.

Anna decided to take some snapshots of her life as a mum, hilariously capturing those epic fails all of us have experienced in her ‘Mom Life’ series.

And while we know they’re staged and exaggerated for comical effect, they’re still pretty darn relatable.

One pic shows Anna trying to steal a few moments to herself to read – the only place to do this without being bombarded by her toddler is by hiding behind a curtain.

Another shows a paint-coated and thoroughly defeated Anna cradling a cuppa while her daughter showers her in crayons and a third shows that even a quick yoga sesh is impossible when you’ve got a toddler (and her toys) to contend with.

“I took the first photo, "Back to School" as a joke about my real feelings on school starting up last August,” Anna told Yahoo! UK and Ireland.

“I had a lot of fun shooting the photo, and my friends really enjoyed it when I shared it on social media. At first, there honestly wasn't a lot of thought put in to it, just something fun for my daughter and I to enjoy together. There is a constant inspiration for chaotic photos when living with a two year old. I am basically creating an elaborate family photo album.”

Puts our bog standard childhood photos to shame.

While Anna knew the photos would be relatable, she had no idea that her pics would go viral.

“I've been amazed that this series had been published in so many countries,” says Anna. “It goes to show that regardless of culture or parenting styles, when you have a little one come in to your life, we're all getting into the same sticky situations.

“It's comforting to me, because I think it's a good reminder that we're all probably more alike than we admit, too.”

And she hopes that when fellow parents look at the images, they smile and realise that they’re not alone.

“I don't want the series to come across as though this is a terrible stressful life,” says Anna. “I love every second I get with Mia, even the most insane ones. I know I'll be missing these days all to soon.”
