Rita Ora was the toast of the MTV EMAs 2012 red carpet in not one, but two red lace outfits last night.
The R.I.P. singer topped the Best Dressed List at the Frankfurt ceremony, turning heads in a blood-red oversized Marchesa gown and a skintight red lace trouser suit – which left little to the imagination.
Rita first walked the red carper in a show-stopping red creation from Marchesa’s AW12 collection, which she teamed with minimal accessories – none were needed with a dress like that – and her statement red pout. Her curly blonde hair, pinned into a chic up-do, completed the first look.
The British singer then changed into another red lace creation, this time in a full-length, skintight bodysuit, cut down to the waist into a figure flattering peplum shape. This time, Rita styled the look with a pair of black strappy stilettos and stacks of rings – letting her hair sit loosely on her shoulders this time around.
Rita is the latest celebrity seen hitting the red-carpet in this season’s lace trend, with Strictly Come Dancing star Kimberley Walsh seen opting for a similar style recently.
At the Music Industry Trusts Awards in London last week, the Girls Aloud singer wowed in a full-length, Jacques Azagury red lace dress, which featured flattering cap sleeves and a panel detail down the bust.
Kimberley teamed her look with matching red lipstick, with her locks styled in a loosely curled ‘updo.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has also shown a penchant for red lace – and the British High Street - donning a ¾-length sleeved French Connection skater dress at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas recently. The young pop star teamed hers with nude patent peep-toes and a glossy red lip.
Kate Middleton has also been spotted wearing the lace trend, as she recycled her favourite full-length lace Temperley gown at a fundraising event for St. Andrews university last week.
Lace is perfect for the upcoming Christmas party season, as it’s on-trend, easy to wear and can come in any colour.
