Andrej Pejic models the Spring/Summer 2012 Nathan Paul Campaign
Grazia Team Beauty do love a bit of model gossip you know, well after hanging out with them all backstage at Fashion Week we get to hear a one or two juicy stories. But, to be honest, this latest snippet of info has slightly taken us by surprise. Supermodel Andrej Pejic (Remember? The boy turned girl model??) has just been signed as the face of Jean Paul Gaultier’s new men’s fragrance. Eek! The new cologne, named Kokorico, is bound to be a winner and is the first scent that the designer has made since he launched Le Male 16 years ago. Exciting stuff isn’t it?! This will also be the first beauty deal for Pejic, who has gone from strength to strength after she rose to fame when she walked in both the Jean-Paul Galutier and Marc Jacobs AW11 catwalk shows and appeared in Marc’s campaign.
Andrej Pejic and Karolina Kurkova model the Spring/Summer 2012 Jean Paul Gaultier Campaign
Jean Paul Gaultier do like to stir things up a bit don’t they? Most recently it was at their Couture show in Paris back in January, where the designer’s collection paid tribute to singer Amy Winehouse only 6 months after her tragic death. That, of course, went down like led-balloon but hopefully Pejic’s new appearance will be met with a bit more applaud. The model was shot only last week for the fragrance campaign, by British photographer Matthew Stone and although it’s might be seen as a slightly controversial choice, it suits the brand down to the ground. Quirky yet sexy, we think Pejic is very fitting for the Gaultier image. Oh, and did you know that Pejic was ranked No. 98 on FHM’s 2011 100 Sexiest Women in the World list? We love!
