Margherita Missoni Slams Kim Kardashian For The Way She Dresses North West

Margherita Missoni has voiced what most of us are thinking; North West’s wardrobe isn’t all that suitable for a toddler.

The famous tot, who’s worn leather, lace, diamond earrings, fur and, most recently, a pearl necklace, has been widely criticised for her outfits that are a far cry from the jeans and T-shirt get-ups that most kids her age wear.

As for that bulletproof vest she wore to her dad's New York Fashion Week Show...

And Margherita thinks Kim and Kanye are encouraging their daughter to grow up too fast.

When asked by Yahoo Style whether she feels under pressure to dress her son Otto, 18 months, in designer gear like North West, Margherita says, “I love clothes for kids because they’re different from adult clothes. You have all your life to be an adult, and to dress like one – you should be a child for as long as you can.

“And kids want to wear things that are comfortable and free…and actually, I do too. Look, I wish I could be wearing a romper right now!”

Margherita’s comments come as she launches her own line of children’s clothing. The 32-year-old, who is expecting her second child, has designed a very classic collection for children – a far cry from North’s looks.

Each practical piece, priced between $30 (£20) and $80 (£53), is created for children to be able to feel ‘free’ and includes loose patterned T-shirts, smock dresses and cosy babygros.

“All the clothes I got before my son was born, he can’t really wear them,” says Margherita. “Either you can’t wash them, or they’re too hard to get on and off – you know, so many baby clothes have sleeves that don’t let the baby’s arms go in and out.

“It’s ridiculous! So my main goals were to make clothes kids could be free in, and clothes their parents could get them in and out of easily.”

Margherita has plans to expand her line to include accessories, bibs, scarves, hats, pouches, coats and even nappy bags.

“The dream is to create an entire children’s world. A fun one!’

This new affordable Missoni clothing line comes weeks after Karl Lagerfeld revealed his first kidswear collection.
