Louise Gray presents bonkers London Fashion Week collection made from toilet roll, custard tart tins and rubbish bags

Scottish designer unveils AW13 range inspired by clowns, court jesters and hungover housewives

We were pretty shocked when we saw the bizarre collection that was Vivienne Westwood Red Label AW13.

But Louise Gray’s latest Autumn Winter 2013 range at London Fashion Week has left us pretty baffled.

Rings and bracelets were formed from discarded toilet rolls, earrings were made from flattened custard tart tins and belts were created with old foil trays.

That’s not mentioning the recycled carrier bags that were used as hair accessories.

“I’m into recycling – it’s a nice concept,” the designer told Vogue.co.uk after the show.

Metallics were obviously a big look on the catwalk and we couldn’t miss her outrageous, in- your-face prints.

Floral patterns influenced by the 70s also adorned tights and accessories.

But it was the beauty look that perhaps drew the most attention. Inspired by what looked like a combination of a hungover housewife and a mad court jester, the make-up was on another scale.

Hair was styled with gel in order to create a wet-look, messy effect.

We can always count on Louise Gray to shake up London Fashion Week.
