Look slimmer without losing weight by correcting your posture

It's true that you can shave three to five pounds off your figure simply by standing straighter with your shoulders back. Dr Paula Moore aka 'The Posture Doctor' is a Brighton based expert who wants to help Brits straighten up and feel the benefits.

With our hectic lifestyles, increasingly longer working hours and addictions to iPads, smartphones, games consoles and Kindles, the rate of posture-related health problems is only set to increase. If you want to find out more you can take a look at Dr Paula's online videos here

Celebs like Anne Hathaway have incredible posture and we think it adds an air of gracefulness to her overall look.

Here are two key exercises that will improve your posture and strengthen your core....

Superman

This exercise will strengthen your back and enhance flexibility. Lie face down on the floor and extend your arms past your head. Your body should be in a straight line from the tips of your fingers to your toes.

Raise your torso, arms and legs at the same time, as though you were trying to fly like Superman. Hold this pose for 10 seconds and then relax. Do up to 10 reps.

Wall Squats

This is a great exercise to build the muscles in your bum. Stand with your back against a wall, leaving your heels about 15 inches away from the wall. Slowly lower yourself as though you were going to sit in a chair.

Your knees should be bent at a 90 degree angle. Be careful to keep your back on the wall as you slide down. Hold for 10 seconds and then slide back up to a standing position. Repeat up to 10 times.
