Little Mix: We’re fed up of caring what other people think - EXCLUSIVE

She hit the headlines this week when she admitted her boyfriend, One Direction’s Zayn Malik, prefers her without make-up.

And now Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards has revealed why she would rather go bare-faced – because she’s fed up of trying to please everyone.

“I think it gets to the point where you’re fed up of caring,” she told Yahoo Lifestyle of her decision to ditch the slap.

“You waste so much time and energy and effort worrying about what other people are thinking. I forget how I want to feel.”

The 20-year-old pop star – who found fame after winning The X Factor with Little Mix in 2011 – told us she doesn’t see why she has to wear a full face of make-up to show off to other people.

“If I don’t want to pile the make-up on to impress people, then why should I? It’s just the way it is,” she said.

“It’s nice to just throw on a bit of lipgloss and a bit of clear mascara and job’s a good'un, you don’t have to worry.”

“When I’m not at work, I don’t bother [with make-up], but obviously when we’re at work we like to go all out,” she added.

Perrie’s bandmate Jade Thirlwall – who hails from the same town in South Shields, Tyne and Wear as Perrie – admits she goes without make-up unless she has to.

“If we’re just going to the studio or something, we don’t mind being photographed really natural. We are who we are really,” said the 20-year-old singer.

And for former Pizza Hut waitress Leigh-Anne Pinnock, she told us she feels like she finally has the confidence to go bare-faced after struggling with problem skin in her teens.

“For me, I would have piled it on more in my early teens. I had really bad skin and I used to pile on the foundation,” said the Bajan-Jamaican star, who hails from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire.

“I would have never have been able to wear a really natural look, because I wouldn’t have felt confident enough to do it.”

Leigh-Anne, 21, said she’s found the inner confidence to go minimal with the make-up.

“If I don’t have to wear make-up, I won’t, as it is nice to let your skin breathe,” she said.

“I think for the first time, I’m actually confident to do that now. You’ve just got to find that inner confidence and be happy with who you are.”

But for the girls’ bandmate Jesy Nelson, who suffered at the hands of cyber bullies during her time on The X Factor two years ago, she admits she wears more make-up than ever.

“I hardly wore any make-up before The X Factor. But now, because we’ve got a make-up artist, I wear it more,” said the 22-year-old, who has shown off a slimmer figure in recent months.

“I just love make-up to be honest!”

So who do the girls – who today launched their debut make-up collection with beauty brand Collection – look up to for their beauty inspiration on nights out?

“I love Kim Kardashian’s make-up. She’s just a goddess!” said Essex-born Jesy.

“I really like Jessica Alba’s. She balances natural with going out make-up really well but it’s not too much,” said Jade.

But for Leigh-Anne – who, like the other girls, was mentored by former judge Tulisa on the show – she prefers the beauty looks of her replacement judge, Nicole Scherzinger.

“I’m pretty obsessed with Nicole Scherzinger. She’s just flawless all the time, she looks amazing. She’s just stunning!” said Leigh-Anne.

And for Perrie – who revealed her engagement to 1D star Zayn at the band’s This Is Us premiere last month – she takes inspiration from newlywed, Keira Knightley.

“I like Keira Knightley. She always has such beautiful eye make-up. Her contouring and cheekbones, she always looks flawless,” said Perrie.

In fact, the engaged star is so taken by the Atonement actress that she told us she watches film with her in JUST to stare at her face.

“I watch films just to look at her. I don’t even watch the movie, I just like to stare at her!” she revealed.
