Let’s All Leave Zara Phillips – And Her Mum Tum – Alone

Why does the world automatically assume a woman’s pregnant if she’s got a bit of a belly? We don’t all have Kate Middleton’s super slim frame…

The 99 per cent of us who aren’t super-leggy models or women with incredibly speedy metabolisms struggle to shed the baby weight. Simple as. So we reckon it’s time the world left Zara Phillips alone.

The Queen’s granddaughter has hit the headlines in the last few days after sporting what some may call a ‘mum tum’. The mum-of-one looked the picture of health at Royal Ascot, in a fitted lemon coloured Paul Costelloe dress, chic up-do and grey and yellow Olivia Millinery Marsha hat.

But despite looking lovely, Zara was instantly slammed for looking ‘five months pregnant’ – or so some newspapers wrote.

But she’s not pregnant – a vicious rumour that Princess Anne’s daughter had to publicly put to rest before it spread like wildfire. Instead Zara’s a normal mum who gave birth to her daughter, Mia, 18 months ago and hasn’t been left with a flat tum a la Kate Middleton.

Whether it’s because she’s been in no rush to shed her baby weight or has, like many women, struggled to lose it is besides the point. It’s appalling that Zara has to defend herself against pregnancy rumours when she could simply be bloated from a few glasses of Pinot.

“Zara is not pregnant – her plans remain the same in terms of preparation for Rio 2016,” a spokesperson told Daily Mail. The royal, who’s a professional horse rider has previously won silver in the Olympics for her sport and hopes to continue her career before trying for a second child.

Zara’s got it tough enough with a cousin-in-law who’s managed to slim right down just SIX WEEKS after giving birth to her second child.

The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted on a family day out with Prince William and George, showing her tiny frame in skinny jeans and a Breton top.

Rumour has it that K Mid’s hired a personal trainer to help her regain her pre-pregnancy shape so speedily – but that’s not to say it’s on Zara’s agenda.

C’mon everyone; let’s save the #mumbod and forget shaming eachother for #mumtums.
