Coachella Festival: Stars Paid As Much As $20,000 - Just To Wear A T-Shirt

Because they really need the money....duh!

Poor little movie stars - life is tough sometimes!

As we near Friday's Coachella festival kick-off, it seems that some brands are extending the arm of charity - offering to pay the way for those who can't afford a ticket.

And American actresses Lea Michele and Vanessa Hudgens are among the lucky beneficiaries.

Er, hang on a minute!

Glee's Lea Michele, who is apparently worth $5.5 million already, is said to have been offered a cool $20,000 by Lacoste to attend the Californian music festival.

For a fashion brand that sells polo shirts and tennis whites, it seems odd that they would want to be pictured at Coachella, a notoriously hippy event.

But, this isn't the first time that the rumour mill has churned up this sort of story.

Last year, there were suspicions that the French fashion house had offered Joe Jonas a considerable sum to appear at the festival in their clothes.

Vanessa Hudgens who, let's face it, needs no excuse to attend Coachella, is apparently having her tickets, plus a staggering $15,000 in spending money, covered by fast food giant McDonalds.

It is unclear if the petite brunette will be expected to let the paps catch her wolfing down a Big Mac and fries, or whether she'll come up with a more inventive way of showcasing the food chain.

As if that wasn't bad enough, a little bird tells us that a few stars who weren't quick enough off the draw in the ticket lottery, are desperately casting around for someone to sponsor their weekend.

Word on the street is that Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul is asking for $15,000 plus two VIP passes and British fashion blogger Louise Roe is hoping for a more meek $5,000.

Maybe Burger King should hop on this bandwagon.

What do you think? Is it right that brands are shelling out the big bucks for a t-shirt sighting? Let us know in the comments.
