Kirsten Dunst Works Dolce & Gabbana's Floral Hair Band While Kristen Stewart Gets Tousled At Cannes

How gorgeous are these shots of Kirsten Dunst and Kristen Stewart posting in Cannes yesterday to promote their soon-to-be-released film On The Road? We've already admired their outfits - Kristen in eye-popping Balenciaga trousers, Kirsten in pretty Dolce & Gabbana - but what of their beauty looks?

In her typically casual-cool style, K-Stew showcased tousled waves and minimal make-up, keeping her eyes covered-up with dark sunnies, but it's K-Dunst's ethereal up 'do that has us enthralled. We love the chic side-parting, the ladylike twisting, the abundance of softening flyaways and, of course, that metal-work floral headband to frame the look. The accessory comes courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana's Autumn Winter 2012 collection and gives the actress an oh-so-pretty and almost regal edge.

Kirsten Dunst Works Dolce & Gabbana's Floral Headband While Kristen Stewart Gets Tousled At Cannes

Backstage at Dolce & Gabbana's Autumn Winter 2012 show

As it happens, in this week’s issue of Grazia, we hero this season’s most youthful summer 'do in the form of the halo hair trend and Kirsten proves it's an easy look to achieve. The braided trend began at the much-talked-about spring/summer 2012 Valentino show, where beauty editors swooned at the halo braids wrapped around models' heads before racing to their nearest hairdresser. Before long, the style had appeared perched a-top the heads of Scarlett Johansson and Poppy Delevigne too. And although La Dunst went for twists rather than plaits, the result is the same and enhanced by that marvellous headgear.

Backstage stylist supreme Guido Palau, who just so happens to be the man behind the Valentino braid, explains exactly why these ethereal styles are so appealing and youth inducing. ‘This style’s huge appeal lies in the fact that it captures the perfect balance between effortless chic and Hollywood glamour,' he says. 'The secret to success lies in creating a roughed-up texture and embracing flyaways so it isn’t too perfect.’

So what are your thoughts on this brand new breed of hair? And will you be giving it a go?
